Hey y'all!

First off, I want to thank you for visiting my blog and spending the time to get to know who I am and seeing what the next big adventure God has called me to. It means the world to me that you are wanting to get involved with supporting me.

This page is to let you know a little bit more about me. I always find these kinds of blogs awkward so I am going to just dive right in.

My name is Marianna Lohnes but most people call me EmJay.

I am 22 years old and I am 5 foot exactly. I grew up in Medina, Ohio and lived there for 13 years and then moved to Greenville, South Carolina when I was a sophomore in high school.

My father is a preacher and my Mama cleans houses and breeds English Labs (if you want a puppy hit me up!)

I have two older twin brothers that are in the Navy, an older sister who is a cop in North Charleston, and a younger sister who is studying medicine to be a doctor.

Also, my best friend is Delaine and she's the greatest.

I went to college at North Greenville University as a Youth Ministry major. When I was a freshman in college I broke my back while sledding which resulted in me getting two rods and eight screws in my back. I was supposed to be paralyzed but God saw fit to spare my legs and let me walk again. I stayed in college until halfway through my junior year and God decided to change my course. I withdrew from school over Christmas break and that day I bought a ticket to Honolulu, Hawaii. Three weeks later, I was on the island of Hawaii, serving in schools and churches.

Hawaii was one of the greatest experiences of my life. It was also one of the most spontaneous things I had ever done. I decided that I wanted to live life in a way where my hands are completely open to what God has in store for me. I figured that living the American Dream is overrated. To live a spontaneous life, running full force towards God, is the way to spend your life. I believe that’s exactly why the Lord has led me to the World Race.
